Prenatal MOT London (Pregnancy MOT) – Prenatal Physiotherapy Check-Up (Prenatal Physio Assessment): Your Essential Step for a Comfortable Pregnancy and Faster Postnatal Recovery.
What is a prenatal Mot (Pregnancy MOT) also Called Prenatal Physiotherapy check up?
A Prenatal MOT, also referred as a Pregnancy MOT, is a specialised prenatal physiotherapy check-up designed to fully assess and support your body as it adapts to the many physical and hormonal changes of pregnancy. Far more than a general health screening, this comprehensive assessment focuses on your posture, pelvic floor, abdominal muscles, core strength, back, Posture, lymphatic circulation (swollen legs) and joint mobility to help ensure you remain comfortable throughout your pregnancy and are well-prepared for labour and postnatal recovery.
Pregnancy often comes with discomforts, pelvic girdle pain (PGP), symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD), sciatica, rib pain, legs swelling, or lower back pain, but many of these can be relieved or even avoided when the body is supported correctly by the right prenatal physio or women’s health osteopath.
Whether you are planning a vaginal delivery or a C-section, the Prenatal MOT ( Pregnancy MOT) at Mummy’s Physio offers evidence-based guidance tailored to your individual needs. This personalised approach helps you understand how your body and pelvic floor are functioning during pregnancy and empowers you to actively prepare for birth. By identifying muscular imbalances, early signs of pelvic floor dysfunction, or strain in the spine and pelvis, the assessment helps reduce discomfort and supports long-term pelvic health and postnatal recovery. And by increasing your understanding and awareness of your pelvic floor (how to contract it or relax it), your labor, delivery and postnatal recovery will also be easier.
“Why fix your pain during pregnancy when we can prevent it before it arises?”

Expert Prenatal Physio and Osteo Offering Prenatal MOT (Pregnancy MOT) in London Since 2008
When we opened in 2008, Mummy’s Physio was the first practice in London to offer Prenatal MOT (Pregnancy MOT) in the same way we do it in France. When pelvic health was still a taboo topic in the UK, we brought from France the most effective pelvic health techniques to help women experience the smoothest and least painful pregnancy possible, empowering them by helping them understand their pelvic muscles, breathing patterns, and body for an easier labour and postnatal recovery. We are now a team of international experts in prenatal and antenatal treatment. Our team is composed of highly trained pelvic health physiotherapists and pregnancy osteopaths, with between 5 to 20 years of experience and many years of post-diploma specialisation and continuous training.
We have successfully helped more than 10,000 pregnant women in London experience a smooth pregnancy, prevent common pregnancy conditions, make their labour easier, and speed up their postnatal recovery through our Pregnancy Physio Check up.

During a Prenatal Physiotherapy Assessment, we check for specific conditions such as pelvic girdle pain (PGP), sacroiliac joint dysfunction, coccyx pain, lower back pain, sciatica, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, vaginismus (overactive pelvic floor), pelvic floor weakness, diastasis recti (abdominal separation), hip pain, gluteal tightness, thoracic stiffness, rib pain, constipation, breathing dysfunction and leg swelling or fluid retention (Lymphatic Drainage).
When Shall I do a Prenatal MOT or Pregnancy MOT?
A full prenatal assessment is usually done from your pregnancy’s second trimester but if you have concerns it can safely be done from the 12th week of your pregnancy.
What is the Goal of a Prenatal MOT ? (pregnancy Check up)
The goal of a Prenatal MOT (Pregnancy Check-Up) is to prevent any common pregnancy related conditions from developing, rather than waiting to treat them once they become uncomfortable or limiting. It’s a proactive assessment designed to keep your body functioning well as it adapts to your pregnancy. A key focus is helping you becoming aware of your pelvic floor, learning how to both contract and relax it with ease so you’re better prepared for labour which helps reduce the risk of complications like incontinence or prolapse. We also look ahead to support your postnatal recovery, making sure your body is in the best possible condition before you give birth.
“Prevention is always better than cure, especially when it comes to your comfort, mobility, and confidence during and after pregnancy.”
